** Experience the color and excitement of Kite Flying on Saturday, June 18th, 2011, and let’s see how many kites we can fly up at Pacheco Pass.
** The Tenth Annual Family Kite Day will be held at Pacheco State Park, in a big windy field. Watch the sky dance with clever and imaginative kites—an afternoon of fun is in the air!
** Action is from 11:30 a.m. until 3;30 p.m.
** Everyone who flies a kite will receive a souvenir Kite Day button.
** There will be other fun activities including a ‘Make Your Own Kite Free’ table and free face painting, as well as Pie Eating Contests and Bubble Gum Blowing Contests. Plus, there will be interesting tables to check out, including nature tables and a ‘sun and wind’ table, as well as crafts for the kids.
** Families are encouraged to bring a kite, hats and/or sunscreen, drinking water, lawn chairs, and a picnic lunch. (There is no drinking water at Pacheco State Park.) A vendor will have lunch and beverages available. Drop by anytime and join the fun.
** The only cost is the $5 state park Day Use Fee per Car.
** This special recreation event is sponsored by California State Parks and Pacheco State Park’s Fatjo Corporation, and marks the occasion of Pacheco State Park’s Twelfth Year Anniversary as a state park.
